The right to remain silent is an important right. Be careful what you say about your case because it can come back to haunt you. For example, people under investigation often feel that if they can just talk to the prosecutor about their charges, the whole thing will go away. This is not usually the case. More often than not, any documents or statements that you provide to the prosecutor can and will be used against you in court. The best policy is to let an experienced attorney advocate your side of the story to the prosecutor and not to let your own words be your undoing.
